Ludhiana: To support students preparing for the upcoming CBSE, PSEB, and ICSE board exams, Ludhiana district administration has launched a 24-hour mental health helpline.
Called ‘ASMAAH’ this helpline offers free and confidential counselling, expert guidance on managing examinations’ stress, emotional support for anxiety and pressure, as well as practical tips to stay focused and motivated.
The students can seek counselling by calling the helpline at contact number 9646470777 anytime round the clock, said Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal.
According to him, this initiative is jointly started by the District Red Cross Society and the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE), aims to assist students in managing exam-related stress and create effective study plans.
These days students are under significant pressure to perform well and achieve high marks. Therefore, it is important for parents, teachers, and the community to convey to students that exams are not the end of the world and there is no need to fear them.
The best approach to handle examinations is to stay calm and tackle each paper one at a time without worrying about the results, he advised adding that the helpline provides services of trained listeners who can help students overcome stress and anxiety.
